This custom basement finish was done in the Backcountry Highlands Ranch, CO neighborhood. The homeowner wanted to create a family space for movie nights, game nights, and entertaining friends and family. We kept the floor plan open, creating plenty of space for large game tables – ping pong, shuffleboard, and skee ball. The design style extended cohesively from the upstairs of the home, but amplified darker colors and the moody brick to give it the feel of a downtown loft or modish bar.
In the bar area, Andrew and Justin custom built floating shelves and cabinetry with integrated lighting, ensuring guests could enjoy themselves when visiting. In lieu of an island or bar top, we designed a custom bar height table with one of a kind steel legs and a quartz top, that can easily seat six, with plenty of space to pull up additional stools. This decision allows the homeowner to move the table if needed, keeping the space open and flexible for various uses.
The space also included spaces for three kids, including an entertainment room for movies and video games, a rock climbing wall, and under the stairs toy cubby.
In addition, we added an additional bedroom and bathroom to the space. The bedroom is utilized as an exercise room, customized with wall to wall mirrors, gym flooring, equipment storage, and extended the brick with custom lighting for added style.
